Battle of the Books is Back!

Six books. Five libraries. One winner. Battle of the Books is back.

Open to those going into grades 5th through 12th this fall; Battle of the Books is a group competition that sees library versus library, answering basic trivia questions using Kahoot on the selected books. Chilton area Teens and Tween meet up throughout the summer to discuss the books read and to quiz each other before the final competition in September. There are six books total, three are traditional novels and three are graphic novels. Participants can read one or all.

Celebrating 20 years of Battle of the Books, these year’s book selections are Quincredible: Quest to Be the Best by Rodney Barns (Graphic Novel), Pahua and the Soul Stealer by Lori M. Lee, Northwind by Gary Paulsen, Riley’s Ghost by John David Anderson, The Curie Society by Janet Harvey (Graphic Novel) and Yummy: A History of Desserts by Victoria Grace Elliott (Graphic Novel). Titles were selected by Manitowoc-Calumet library staff members in March.

The Chilton Public Library will be holding a teen/tween meet-up on Wednesday, May 25, at 1:30 PM for those who would like to learn more about the 2022 Battle of the Books program. There will be snacks and giveaways.
