Library Aide

Chilton Public Library is looking for a friendly, dependable, and community-minded person to join our team as a part-time Library Aide. This position is a great fit for someone who enjoys helping people, working in a welcoming public setting, and keeping things organized.

The Library Aide assists patrons at the service desk, checks materials in and out, shelves and organizes library materials, and helps maintain a clean and inviting library environment. Additional duties may include answering phones, helping patrons locate materials, providing basic assistance with computers and printers, preparing materials for circulation, and assisting library staff with routine projects.

Schedule and Pay


Approximately 7–15 hours per week
Primarily weekday evenings and Saturdays
Applicants must be available to work scheduled weekday evening shifts until 8:00 PM
Starting pay is $11.00 per hour

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will:

Provide friendly and respectful customer service, both in person and over the phone
Communicate well with people of all ages and backgrounds
Be dependable, organized, and attentive to detail
Be comfortable using computers and learning new technology
Be able to work independently and as part of a small team
Be able to bend, reach, stand for periods of time, and move carts or boxes of library materials
