Library Assistant - Part-Time

Are you passionate about books, technology, and providing excellent customer service? The Chilton Public Library is seeking a friendly and motivated individual to join our team as a Part-Time Library Assistant. This position offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic and welcoming environment, assisting patrons of all ages with their library needs.

​

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide outstanding customer service at the circulation desk, including checking in and out materials and assisting patrons in locating resources.

  • Organize, shelve, and maintain library materials to ensure a neat and accessible collection.

  • Assist patrons with basic technology issues, including:

    • Navigating the digital library.

    • Troubleshooting Microsoft Office programs.

    • Printing, scanning, and faxing.

  • Answer phone inquiries and provide accurate information about library services.

  • Foster a welcoming environment for children, teens, and adults by building positive rapport.

Qualifications:

  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.

  • Proficiency in using computers and technology, including basic Microsoft Office applications.

  • Ability to assist patrons of varying skill levels with technology and digital resources.

  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.

  • Detail-oriented and comfortable with organizational tasks such as shelving and maintaining materials.

  • A genuine interest in working with diverse groups, including children, teens, and adults.

  • Type: Part-time

  • Schedule: Flexable shifts, including, evenings and Saturdays

  • Wage: starting at $14.00/hour
