Be a Volunteer

Connect with your community by volunteering at the Chilton Public Library. Commit only to what you are comfortable doing. Some volunteer duties may require an application and background check.

Below is a list of some volunteer duties the library has available. Is there something you want to do, but isn't on the list? Contact us and we can see what we can do.

SHELF MANAGERS

We can train you to be a shelf reader.  Adopt a shelf, make sure the section is in order.

HOMEBOUND DELIVERY

Help deliver library materials to local living facilities and homebound patrons.

PROGRAM FACILITATORS

Tap into your passion. Art, crafts, local history, family genealogy, teach ESL or lead a foreign language learning group.

LIBRARY PHOTOGRAPHERS

Take your photography skills and take pictures of library events.

COLLECTION ASSISTANTS

Help find lost books or review series (fiction, manga, and graphic novels) and make a list of missing books.

PROCESSING ASSISTANTS

Tape and cover books.  Add disc stickers and material labels.

CIRCULATION ASSISTANTS

Reshelve books, pull materials for holds, process items to be placed back on the shelf.

TECHNOLOGY GURUS

Willing to work one-on-one with patrons to share your technology skills? Maybe you would like to help maintain public laptops and desktops.

LIBRARY MARKETERS

Help post flyers of events around the town. Take your writing skills and write up press releases and news articles to send to the local newspapers. Tap into your artistic style to help create a bulletin board or book display.
