2026 Afterschool Adventure September (1920 x 1080 px).png

All events start at 1:30 PM

Engaging activities along with delicious snacks.

Early release Wednesdays don’t have to mean heading straight home! Afterschool Adventures gives students in grades 3–5 a fun, welcoming place to spend the afternoon with friends while trying something new.

Each week is a little different. We might be creating art, taste-testing snacks, tackling a creative challenge, talking about the books we’re reading, designing something, playing games, or discovering a new favorite activity. Snacks and supplies are provided, and all programs begin at 1:30 PM on the scheduled early-release Wednesdays.

Coming up in September:

September 9 – Bearly Creative Art Studio
Explore bear-inspired art with creative projects that let kids experiment with color, patterns, collage, and their own imagination.

September 16 – Pocket Pets Craft Lab
Create a tiny pet or completely imaginary creature, then design a miniature home or habitat for it. Kids can give their new pet a name, personality, and story of its own.

September 23 – Snack Stick Taste-Off
Taste and rate a variety of stick-shaped snacks.

September 30 – Books & Apple Cider
Wrap up the month with a relaxed book-club-style afternoon. Share what you’re reading, hear recommendations from other kids, enjoy an apple cider bar, and make a simple book-themed craft.

Afterschool Adventures are free, and no registration is required. Come to the library, grab a snack, meet up with friends, and see what we’re getting into this week!

Younger children are invited to participate with an adult partner.
